Northlink is a new large format (30,000+ m²) retail centre in Papanui, Christchurch anchored by Kmart, Noel Leeming, Briscoes and Rebel Sport – along with 20+ other tenants. Project constraints driven by milestone opening dates requested by the anchor tenants required a fast-track design and build approach. Envision were selected to provide our full service on this project based on our teams previous track-record of successfully delivering projects within a tight time-frame for this client.

To maximise the opportunity for this development, Envision was introduced at the time of inception to manage the transformation of the industrial brownfield site into one of Christchurch’s premier retail centres.

The project involved one of the most complex demolition projects in the South Island along with major ground remediation works. The project was broken up into multiple stages to align with the client’s procurement of tenants. The Envision team utilised it’s construction knowledge and contractor relationships to formulate an efficient build sequence to continually deliver on key milestone dates. Envison’s design and build approach allowed the client maximum flexibility for finalising tenant selection.

Client partnership is always at the forefront of Envision’s values. Through being able to understand the client’s deliverables from the outset, Envision was able to successfully deliver all phases of the project within a challenging time frame.  Envision’s collaborative approach facilitated the seamless integration of 25 varying retail tenant briefs within the client’s overall vision for the development.
